Organic Fig

“Let food be your medicine.” Hippocrates

One of my favorite fall fruits is fig. I like all kinds of figs; green, yellow, red, and purple. Fall not only is magical with all the colors in nature, but also it is a time to enjoy two wonderful fruits, pomegranate and fig that grow in the same climate. I have tried them in many countries, but so far I have had the best kind of both in Ardestan, Iran. Figs are delicious either fresh or dried. It can be consumed as jam, preserve, or baking goods.

Fig is known as a remedy for constipation because of it’s rich fiber content. It prevents high cholestrol, high bood pressure, and colon cancer. It even can help you to manage your weight if you don’t overeat it. It has vitamine A and B, calcium, iron, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, and manganese. Fig is also good for your healthy heart, healthy bone, and helthy vision. It is refered to as a natural powerful sexual supplement. Fig leaves tea has a soothing effect on cough and asthma. If you have vocal cord inflamation, fig can help to sooth your pain 🙂
