Organic Avocado or Alligator Pear or Persea Americana

“Let food be your medicine.” Hippocrates

The first time that I tasted this wonderful nutritious single seed big berry was in England and the first time that I saw it on the tree was in California in the backyard of my friend who was hosting me. This fascinating Mexican fruit has different varieties and is so delicious and creamy. I like it in salad, in guacamole, and for breakfast when I replace the seed with a pouched egg and sate it in a pan with bacon strips wraped all around it.

Avocado is a super food. It contains a lot of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin K, B, C, and E and it reduces cholesterol. It has more potasium than banana, which is good for your heart. It has healthy monounsaturated fat like olive oil. And not only it has lots of antioxidants and fiber, but also when it is consumed with veggies, it increases the amount of antioxidants  your body absorbs. Avocado helps you to have healthy eyes and vision and lowers the risk of cataract. Eating avocado moderately helps you to feel satisfied longer. That helps you with an effective weight maintenance and preventing to gain weight. 🙂
